My Armchair of Inaction

Lord,
These missionary preachers….

my heart is gripped
by the stories
the need
the desperate hunger of the world.

And I’m troubled
to know
that right now
my world is mostly made up
of people like me
and my kids–
who may well GO.

Am I a sending generation?
Am I supposed to be a GOING generation?

Is it okay to cook
and bake
and talk
and teach
and mentor?

Should I be doing more?

The dangerous thing about
finding my niche
is that

immediately
that niche can become
my comfy
armchair of inaction.

Adventure and Celebration I

ADVENTURE AND CELEBRATION

“I want to live life on my tiptoes!” I wrote in my journal about ten years ago. It sounded good. Have you ever tried walking on tiptoes for even a day, let alone a lifetime? Read more »
